GREG WEISSWASSER (Guitar, Vocals)
Dr. Greg began playing guitar at 4 years old in the State of Michigan. He began composing songs at 14 and by 16 was the lead singer in the early 90’s alternative rock band “Beyond the Light” playing in Detroit clubs. Dr. Greg continued to play, write and gig throughout his pursuit of his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, in Seattle Washington. After graduating in 2005 he headed down to California to the sweet sister cities of Grass Valley and Nevada City to start the Whitewater Naturopathic Clinic. Dr. Greg has been playing and performing in the local area in bands including “Synergy” , “The All Around Town Band”, as well performing acoustic singer song sessions.
Playing and writing with MAJIK has brought together Dr. Greg’s talents with tone and improvisation to a higher state. Transformative music with a song for everyone. Complete creative expression. Merging multiple music genres into a new amalgamation. Connecting through the collective mycelial consciousness vibration. His guitar tones are unique with a wide spectrum to fit the many places MAJIK can go at any moment.
BEN BODINE (Drums, Perc, Vocals)
Ben received his first drum kit at age 13 in the state of Iowa where he was raised. Five years later he sold that heavily invested drum kit at age 18 to hit the road following the band Phish, and the Further Festival; circa 1996, 1997 and 1998. Ben absorbed a tremendous amount of groove along the way and also found a deeper meaning of human connection. Arriving in Nevada City, CA in 1999, Ben began his musical career in various bands as he simultaneously worked local organic farms and learned soil biology through apprenticeship and local workshops.
From 2002 - 2017 Ben was a member and performed in local Nevada City area bands “Cosmic Wobble”, “Organic Flood”, "The Soft Bombs” and “Kadija” he also joined "Frame of Mind” from Reno, NV for a stint.
His second passion is the soil and its web of life, which is similar to how Ben views this MAJIK band experience — it is an interwoven biological experience that can transform any chord progression and beat into an in-depth complex structure for optimal enjoyment and emotional influence. We create our realities… always!
ERIC VANDENBRINK (Bass, Moog, Synth, Piano, etc..)
Born and raised in Michigan, Eric Vandenbrink’s journey through music started in his early years at home. With family members who are well rooted in thespian and musician careers, Eric got his musical inspiration at a young age. Having family who attended Juilliard School of Music and staring in Broadway plays, Eric was able to be influenced with a deeper knowledge of the theories in music as a child. As Eric entered into his adult years, he realized the west coast was more his vibe, and finding his musical journey would be one journey of headed out west.
A driving force and a master of progressions for Majik, Eric is a leader in the direction the band takes during song production and improvisational musical journeys. His knack for original arrangements and flowing progressions brings an edge to the band.
Bass guitar is his main podium in the band, but he’s not limited there. Eric is also fluent at the piano and keyboards. You will find Eric in the music through the Vibanet, Moog, Nord, Fender Rhodes, Hammond B3 Organ and more…. He’s what we call a “Master of All”…
